In  order to improve the performance of mid-range models and accelerate the  popularization of artificial intelligence (AI) applications, Armor  International has announced the launch of a new Mali Multimedia IP Suite  that includes the Mali-G52 and Mali-G31 graphics processors and  Mali-D51 display processing. Devices, Mali-V52 video processors, etc., extend high-performance  computing to mainstream mobile products and digital TV markets.

The content that smart phones need to process today is becoming more  and more complex. Consumers demand more and more low-cost mobile  devices, in addition to supporting sophisticated multi-layer user  interfaces, but also capable of running various new applications and  technologies.

In  addition, with the rise of AI, machine learning (ML) functions are no  longer only featured in flagship smart phones. Users of all tiers of  products expect their devices to easily run applications that use  machine learning. In addition, 3D games, mixed reality (MR), and 4K content are becoming  increasingly popular, making mid-range models also need to continuously  improve computing performance.

To  this end, Arm introduced the new Mali Multimedia Suite, including the  Mali-G52 and Mali-G31 graphics processors, the Mali-D51 display  processor, and the Mali-V52 video processor. The new IP suite seamlessly integrates with the existing DynamIQ  architecture CPU and other Arm IP, completes Arm's next-generation  mainstream mobile devices and digital TV solutions.

It  is reported that the Mali-G52 graphics processor can handle more  complex images, allowing mainstream mobile device systems that are  limited by power consumption and bandwidth to run more machine learning  functions. Compared  with the previous-generation product Mali-G51, it is 30% higher in  performance density and 15% in energy efficiency, and its machine  learning performance is 3.6 times higher than that of the previous  generation, so it can play higher in the same chip area. Drawing efficiency, and reducing the power consumption and heat of the  device, can last longer when running a very power-consuming game like  AR.

In  addition to the Mali-G52, ARM also introduced the new Mali-G31 series,  the first Ultra-Efficient GPU using the innovative Bifrost architecture,  which is 20% smaller than the previous-generation Mali-G51, but its  performance The density is 20% higher, not only saving chip area, but also providing better energy efficiency.

In addition, Arm also introduced the Mali-D51 and Mali-V52 processors for display devices and 4K requirements. Mali-D51  is the first mainstream display processor with Komeda architecture,  which saves 30% of the previous power savings and 50% memory latency,  and supports seamless and efficient content playback. The Mali-V52 is  20% faster than the previous generation. The  quality of the uploading, the presentation of sharper and sharper  videos, and the increased decoding performance, make 4K content popular  to all major devices, and thus meet higher resolution than ever before.
